Award-Winning Restaurant Renovation Using ACRYLITE®

ACRYLITE® Satinice Acrylic Tubes Used in Indianapolis Restaurant Receive Glowing Reviews.

Stylish Look and Design, and Ability to Meet One-Week Turnaround Key Reasons for Selection of Roehm America’s Innovative ACRYLITE® Satinice Tubes

PARSIPPANY, NJ–July 8, 2008 – Roehm America LLC, announces its ACRYLITE® Satinice acrylic tubes were part of a major renovation at an award-winning eatery in Indianapolis, IN that helped transform the century-old historic building into a trendy restaurant and lounge. In fact, the renovation was so successful the owners have officially changed the name to Scholars Inn Restaurant & Lounge, or more simply, S.I., which they also say describes the new interior – sexy and intimate.

ACRYLITE® Satinice tubes were selected for more than their stylish look and design. They also met the tight one-week time frame for the tubes to be cut, fabricated and shipped in order for the lighting to be installed for the restaurant’s grand re-opening on March 3rd. Thankfully, the restaurant’s design firm, which selected the Satin Ice Tube because of its frosted and diffused look, and the plastic distributor, Total Plastics of Indianapolis, were able to make it all happen in seven days.

“There were a few key reasons why Roehm America was selected,” said Tom Stempson, branch manager, Total Plastics. “The Satinice tube is a high quality product and Roehm America was able to ship it out to us immediately. This allowed us to complete fabrication and deliver before the March 3rd deadline. There was no chance we would have gone anywhere else.”

The tubes have a frosted appearance throughout that offers excellent, even light diffusion while maintaining high light transmission. Optimum light dispersion is created by the many diffuser beads embedded within the tubes that continually change the light propagation.

Another benefit is that the tubes can create a greater luminous intensity from an internal light source of the same power, or the same luminosity at a lower energy cost. This translates to increased efficiency and lower energy costs. Also, the tube’s surface hides fingerprints and scratches for enhanced service life and less maintenance.

“The ACRYLITE® Satinice tubes’ appearance and functionality as a light source more than met my expectations,” said Lyle Feigenbaum, owner of the Scholars Inn. “I am ecstatic about how well they look and they add a unique aesthetic appeal to the restaurant.”

The use of this material helped management make incredible interior design updates and changes that transformed the mood and atmosphere of the restaurant. It was part of an overall renovation project that helped continue the revitalization of the district in which the Scholars Inn is located. Working closely with the Indianapolis Historical Commission, restaurant management was able to maintain the exterior integrity of the century-old landmark building while giving the inside a new modern look.

They are available in six stocked sizes, and two additional sizes can be custom ordered. The use of clear and color LEDs can enhance the color scheme of any design and are ideally suited for tube lighting applications.
