Why do my ACRYLITE® sheets look warped and wavy?

When acrylic sheets are exposed to air, they can absorb moisture from the air. This causes the exposed edges of a sheet to expand slightly, resulting in the sheets taking on a wavy/warped appearance. To prevent this, the sheets should be kept in the plastic over-wrap as much as possible. Once the sheet is in use, the entire sheet will come to moisture equilibrium and the waviness will disappear. The sheets can also be dried to remove the excess moisture from the edges. This effect is more noticeable the thinner the sheet.
