How to clean adhesive residue or haze left by masking

Adhesive residue or haze left by masking can be difficult to remove. It usually occurs when the masking's latex adhesive gets old or is exposed to moisture, high temperature, or sunlight.

The residue or haze may be removed using kerosene or aliphatic naphtha (VM&P naphtha) followed by a thorough rinse with water. A product specifically formulated for removing adhesive residue is:
