Many orthodontic offices use an open floor plan for routine work on braces. In the past, this was not considered a hazard in regards to the spread of germs. Now, there's a new normal that can't be overlooked. Many orthodontists are looking into barrier solutions to place between patient chairs. This is to protect clients as well as staff members from exposure to infectious aerosols.
Nadeau Orthodontics in Kennebunk, Maine has installed these hanging multi-skin barriers for this very reason. They are made from 16mm ACRYLITE® Alltop with a black hanging bar at the top made of 9mm ACRYLITE® 9M001 acrylic. This bar holds the barrier up as well as adds a decorative touch to the top of the panel.
Due to the floor cleaning requirements and the tight spacing between the equipment, the orthodontics team thought best to have hanging barriers over floor-mounted barriers. See below for more images on how the application turned out.
